Here's a little something about me...
My name is Juno, and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Second Language Studies (SLS). I will receive a Bachelor's degree in SLS in May 2015.
Being a second generation Korean I was fortunate enough to be raised in a bilingual environment and was encouraged to embrace my roots and who I am as a multicultural person. Growing up in Guam, learning Chamorro is required at a young age, but as a child it was just another class to take in school. Little did I know that learning Korean at home but English and Chamorro at school was only the beginning of my journey as becoming a teacher?
Now, I get to call Hawai’i my new home. Hawai’i led me to learn a lot of multicultural ethnicities and languages which have broaden my horizon as person and a future professional. I love traveling and recently I visited Japan, Korea, and West Coast of the United States. I chose to become SLS teacher because it opens doors for teaching abroad and learning new cultures. As a bilingual child growing up, I want my future students to know that language can take you places that you never thought could be possible.
